Hi, I’m Emma Smith, a goalkeeper from the class of 2026. Soccer has always been a big part of my life. I played as a field player for years before focusing on basketball and switching to GK in high school. The skills I developed on the soccer field and basketball court, like footwork, field/court vision, quick reflexes and agility, have really helped me transition to goalkeeper.

Playing for St. James Academy and Kansas Rush Girls’ Academy U19 has been an amazing journey. My coaches and teammates say I’m good at making smart decisions and staying calm under pressure, thanks to my background in both sports. I love the challenge and responsibility of being the last line of defense.

Balancing soccer, basketball, and school isn’t always easy, but I’ve learned to manage my time well. I work hard in my classes because I know that being a student-athlete means excelling both on the field and in the classroom. I’m looking for a college that values both academics and athletics, where I can continue to grow as a player and a student.

I’m really excited about the possibility of joining a college soccer team. I believe I can bring a lot to the team with my skills, dedication, and love for the game. Thank you for considering me!
